Overview

Valiant’s PTP IEEE-1588v2 (Precision Time Protocol) Grandmaster is a very versatile product that is designed to be used in both contemporary and legacy synchronization applications. Valiant’s PTP IEEE-1588v2 (Precision Time Protocol) Grandmaster includes a highly accurate and powerful PTP Grandmaster engine that can be used in both telecom and power networks. In addition to supporting PTP telecom and PTP power profiles, it also provides ITU-T G.811 compliant, 2.048Mbits (E1), 2.048MHz, 1.544Mbits (T1) primary reference clocks that can be used to synchronize legacy SDH and SONET networks. Furthermore, its integrated NTP Server may be used to provide time-of-day synchronization to NTP slave terminals / equipment that require NTP / SNTP mode of synchronization.

The equipment also provides a Stratum 1 quality (GPS locked) 10MHz synchronization reference with multiple time (1PPS, IRIG-B) and frequency outputs that are usually required for synchronizing 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G / LTE mobile telecommunications networks, Micro Cell sites. It may be also used by Railways, Airports (including Air-Traffic Control), Power Generation / distribution companies and other Utility companies who not only require a highly precise time-of-day and frequency synchronization locked to a GPS / GNSS Reference but who also need to distribute highly precise time-of-day and frequency synchronization across all nodes of their networks.

The VCL-GPS / GNSS Receiver is equipped with an integrated GPS / GNSS receiver and a highly accurate low-noise OCXO / Rubidium oscillator which provides a high stability holdover quality typical of an SSU in the eventuality of the GPS signal or its antenna failure. Both OCXO and Rubidium Holdover Clock options are available.

PTP 1588v2 Grandmaster, Dual GNSS Primary Reference Clock with NTP Time Server

VCL-2145-D is a high-performance, PTP 1588v2 Grandmaster, GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) Primary Reference Clock that provides ITU-T G.811 Primary Synchronization Frequency References which are locked to a user selected GNSS (GPS-GLONASS-SBAS) Satellite source.

The VCL-2145-D Satellite Receiver also has an integrated, high bandwidth NTP Time Server engine. It provides multiple Input options including up to Dual GPS / GNSS Receivers, 2.048 MHz, 75 Ohms (BNC), 2.048 Mbit/s (E1) (BNC), 10 MHz, 50 Ohms (BNC) and multiple Output options including PTP 1588v2 Grandmaster, 2.048 Mbit/s (E1), or 1.544 Mbit/s (T1), 8 x 2.048 MHz, 1 MHz / 5 MHz /10 MHz, 50 Ohms, IRIG-B, 1PPS, TOD (Time-Of-Day) output compliant to NMEA0183 (DB9, RS-232C), IPv4 and IPv6 NTP Server. Multiple IRIG-B Outputs are provided to synchronize local clock (time-of-day) display units as well as RTUs to a central timing source with nano-second accuracy. OCXO and Rubidium Holdover clock options are available.

VCL-2424, DIN-Rail Mount version IEEE-1588v2 PTP Grandmaster, Primary Reference Clock (PRC), GPS NTP Time Server is a ruggedized GNSS (GPS/GLONASS), ITU-T G.811 compliant solution to provide a highly precise time and frequency reference outputs. Applications include synchronization of 2G, 3G, 4G / LTE, 5G services in harsh environments.

It may be also used by railways and metro signalling infrastructure, airports and air-traffic control facilities, solar farms, wind-farms, electric sub-stations, power distribution infrastructure, off-shore oil and gas rigs and naval vessels that are required to operate in complete isolation due to the very nature of their application, geographical location, or due to security reasons.

VCL-2424 establishes a highly accurate phase-synchronized frequency and time base by synchronizing to the GNSS (GPS/GLONASS) satellites' atomic clocks to distribute synchronized time over packet based networks including Ethernet, Carrier Ethernet, IP and IP/MPLS Networks.
