VCL-3000, IEC-61850-3 compliant Data Concentrator Unit (DCU)
Description
The VCL-3000 is a compact, versatile IEC-61850-3 compliant Data Concentrator Unit (DCU) which may be used to build Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) and Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) to collect information and metering data from multiple meters and forward the data to a central server of the power utility over wired Ethernet, or wireless GSM (GPRS, 2G,3G, LTE) links.
The VCL-3000 can securely aggregate data from up to 40 meters and transmit the information to the centralized utility server. The VCL-3000 can be tailored to meet a very wide variety of data collection requirements since it provides several forward (metering side) and backward (network side) communication interfaces.
