The VCL-2725 is an industrial multirate media converter that is housed in a rugged aluminum chassis which is designed to convert 10/100/1000Base-T (Electrical Ethernet) signal into 100Base-FX or 1000Base-X (Optical Ethernet - Multirate) signal. And vice-versa. It may be used to convert/extend 10/100/ 1000Base-T Electrical Ethernet signal to 100Base-FX or 1000Base-X (Optical Ethernet) transparently with no performance degradation. The VCL-2725 industrial media converter is an ideal solution to connect networks on different floors, separate buildings and to extend distances between servers, workgroups or locations. Optical loss budget options are from 12dB to up to 38dB (i.e. equivalent to 2 KM (1.24 Miles) to up to approximately 80 KM (50 Miles) (with nominal cable attenuation and splicing losses) in an Ethernet network.
